Upwater AG is a Swiss Eawag spin-off founded in 2022 that develops environmental monitoring technology for wastewater treatment plants. We offer high-resolution greenhouse gas measurement systems that monitor emissions of nitrous oxide (N?O), methane, oxygen and CO? to help optimise aeration efficiency, energy use and climate reporting. Upwater also conducts microbiome analyses using weekly DNA sequencing (16S-rRNA) to track microbial community dynamics, detect process instabilities and support operational decisions. These diagnostics enable early warning of issues, emission reduction strategies and improved plant performance.
