Knowing foreign languages is crucial in a globalised world. However, traditional methods for learning languages require a large amounts of time investment and self-discipline. Reaching an intermediate level takes ~600h of study. Many learners fail to motivate themselves over this period, leading to high dropout rates. We offer learning software that removes both pain pointsthe need for time and for self-disciplinefrom language learning by integrating the learning into existing reading habits. We translate some of the words in texts that users read in their native language into a foreign language, allowing users to passively memorise them while reading. Timely is based on PhD research of the co-founders, Valentin & Lars, who are experienced in ML and NLP.
