The month of July registered a small decrease compared to June, with only one significant large round: Climeworks raised 132 million CHF. Cleantech (132 million CHF with 6 rounds) positioned in the Top ranking for most active sector. The month of July had a decrease of 3% compared to June 2025 (from 135 million CHF in June to 132 million CHF), and a larger decrease in the number of rounds (35 in June to 11 in July). Compared to the same period of 2024, there is also a decrease in the total amount raised: in 2024, the Swiss startups raised a total of 176 million CHF, in 27 rounds, while in 2025 the Swiss companies raised a total of 132million CHF in11 rounds, which represents a decrease of 26% compared to the same period of last year. In terms of number of rounds, there was a decrease of 59%.
The month of May registered an increase compared to April, with four significant large round: GlycoEra raised 113 million CHF, Haya Therapeutics raised 54 million CHF, ReproNovo raised 54 million CHF and aktiia raised 34.7 million CHF. Biotech (187 million CHF with 8 rounds), Medtech (89 million CHF and 7 rounds) and Fintech (25 million CHF and 3 rounds) position themselves in the Top ranking for most active sectors. The month of May had an increase of 161% compared to April 2025 (from 123 million CHF to 320 million CHF), however with a small decrease in the number of rounds (29 in May to 34 in April). Compared to the same period of 2024, there is also an increase in the total amount raised but a decrease in the number of rounds: in 2024, the Swiss startups raised a total of 234 million CHF, in 38 rounds, while in 2025 the Swiss companies raised a total of 320 million CHF in 29 rounds, which represents a decrease of 24% compared to the same period of last year, in terms of number of rounds, but an increase of 37% in terms of amount raised.
The month of April registered an increase compared to March of the year, with only one significant large round: Granite Bio raised 83 million CHF. Biotech (86 million CHF with 8 rounds), Cleantech (13 million CHF and 4 rounds) and Engineering (12 million CHF and 4 rounds) position themselves in the Top ranking for most active sectors. ICT was the sector with more rounds – 9 in total. The fourth month of 2025 is very aligned with the same period of 2024: in the previous year, the Swiss startups raised a total of 148 million CHF, in 31 rounds, while in 2025 the Swiss companies raised a total of 123 million CHF in a total of 34 rounds, which represents a decrease of 17% compared to the same period of last year.
