Our ETH-alumni team observed that billions of rechargeable batteries have been deployed, and successively are reaching their ends of life.
In all cases, a few weak cells determine that a pack is no longer viable, while the rest of the cells in the pack maintain very high capacities and states of health.
Our technology can be applied to re-deploy these healthy cells in a wide variety of applications, not just the classical stationary energy storage use cases.
Our approach is to sell energy and not battery systems to customers in transportation, power tools, home storage, and other markets. From that perspective, our total available market is immense. The serviceable market is limited to applications where safety and cost dominate over capacity and charge/discharge performance.
