Rhovica Neuroimaging is developing the SoNav™ platform, integrating miniaturized sensors directly into neurosurgical instruments to provide continuous real-time guidance and monitoring at the point of care.
Today, in about 2 million neurosurgical procedures every year, critical decisions are still made based on pre-acquired images without live feedback. This leads to complications, delays, higher costs and worse clinical outcomes.
The first application focuses on emergency neurocritical care: enabling safe, fast and cost-efficient placement of brain catheters (EVDs) for life-threatening elevated intracranial pressure caused by severe head trauma or intracranial bleeding. The broader platform is designed for future applications across neurosurgery and neurocritical care.
