Water quality monitoring is still largely based on centralized laboratory analysis, which is costly, slow, and not scalable for frequent measurements. Results often take days, limiting timely decision-making. At the same time, environmental risks are increasing due to climate change, water scarcity, and emerging contaminants, creating a strong need for faster and more accessible testing solutions. Neosens was founded by Marco Fumagalli (MSc EPFL) and Abtin Saateh (PhD on the technology), with additional expertise in finance, sales, and business development. We develop a biosensing platform based on optical technology and disposable tests, targeting the ~CHF 6B water testing market and aiming to expand into new applications, with a goal of CHF 15M recurring revenue by 2030.
