Current DNA analysis is slow, costly, and expert-dependent, keeping sequencing locked in labs and limiting its use for fast, reliable identification in the field. This creates delays and high costs for biodiversity surveys, compliance checks, and traceability across industries needing biological verification.
DecodeNAture develops field-deployable DNA sequencing tools that bring genomic analysis to the point of need. Founded by engineers and biologists from EPFL, UNIL, and BSU (USA), we address time, cost, and usability barriers through portable hardware, consumables, and cloud analysis. The biomonitoring and diagnostics market exceeds $18- 22 B, with an initial $500 M opportunity in plant DNA analysis, and expansion planned toward regulatory and agricultural applications.
