Truvis Authentica extracts the surface texture, true color and reflection characteristics of real-life objects. It is a spin-off of the University of Basel Digital Humanities Lab, formerly Imaging and Media Lab. Integrated solution consisting of software, apparatus and web-based viewer (HTML5). Examples can be found at: https://www.truvis.ch/.
It varies between applications in the Cultural Heritage, GLAM, Museum, Education sector, but in the course of COVID-19 it demonstrates its advantages for specialty shops and luxury goods. TRUVIS Authentica, allows customers to virtually touch materials, and lets surfaces and objects be verified for its high-end quality. TRUVIS Authentica is a substitue for visiting shops, it shows the smoothness of fabrics or leather while virtually touching it.
