Between 20-60% of hospital patients are malnourished, yet only 6% are identified, leading to over ¬170 billion in healthcare costs across Europe. Our project seeks to improve treatment and patient well-being by offering software that uses 3D imaging and artificial intelligence to identify malnutrition, alongside patient-centric foods for special medical purposes (FSMP) to address it. The software reduces caregiver time, cuts treatment costs by CHF 600 per patient per day, and enables hospitals to receive higher reimbursement for patient care. FSMP products are prescribed for up to two years post-discharge.
