algrano's technology revolutionises coffee trade. On algrano coffee roasters buy green coffee beans directly from coffee growers. Thanks to its in-house developed technology, algrano sets new standards in terms of efficiency in logistic and financial administration in the traditional coffee trading industry. algrano's vision is to be the automated purchasing and logistic department of thousands of roasting facilities that exist in Europe.

800+ business partners are registered. Producers from Nicaragua, Brazil, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Peru, etc. have sold green coffee beans to European roasters, based in 11 countries. algrano has successfully scaled up from orders of a few jute bags to orders of full ship containers. algrano's partners provide logistic and financial services to ship the coffee from the grower to the roaster. This disruptive coffee trade model leaves the middlemen away and establishes an equally empowered value chain. Coffee growers establish a brand, like wine estates do, become entrepreneurs and increase their earnings. Roasters get more value for money: a traceable supply chain, full price transparency, increase in the variety and an authentic marketing story to differentiate their product.

algrano won 2 startup programs, the Best Product Award of the European coffee industry association and has raised USD1M. The board consists of international experts in coffee trade (Ragnar Wetterblad), sustainability (David Rosenberg) and online entrepreneurship (Pascal Mathis). The three Swiss co-founders and friends, Christian Burri, Gilles Brunner and Raphael Studer, differ in their skill set that ranges from coffee quality grading, financial modelling, data analyses to programming. algrano has 6 employees and is currently hiring to increase marketing and sales power.
