Akina builds AI-powered medical software to enable connected physiotherapy at home. Our AI motion coach uses the webcam in typical smart devices to analyze patient movements and to provide real-time guidance. With a unique, personalized user journey, Akina maximizes patient engagement and enjoyment. Through a connected cloud portal, healthcare professionals can follow their patients progress, review exercises, and adjust therapy - all 20x faster than possible
As a spin-off from Swiss university ETH Zurich, Akinas growing team of 14 brings vast experience in movement science, AI, software development and rehabilitation technology. Akina was founded by Florian Haufe (CEO) and Michele Xiloyannis (CTO) in 2021 after years of research in the areas of rehabilitation technology and robotics.
