Rapyuta Robotics is a global technology startup that builds cloud robotics solutions. Spun out of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology(ETH Zürich) in 2014, the company now has 33 employees, and offices in India, Japan, and Switzerland.
While improvements in technology are helping to make robotics more accessible to markets, the ability to integrate all the required hardware and software expertise remains a barrier for most companies.
By integrating and providing abstractions/APIs for robotics hardware, software, external sensors, and the cloud -- the model that gives on demand access to powerful data centers -- Rapyuta Robotics’ platform empowers users to build powerful robotics components and solutions.
Hardware developers can focus on building great hardware without the need to support all the software developers who want to use it; software developers can focus on developing powerful and scalable algorithms rather than on the details of hardware, cloud infrastructure, network and security; application developers can focus on the business processes instead of wasting effort on the details of the hardware and software components; and finally the end user can focus on the big picture rather than on deployments, operations and scalability.
In 2015, Rapyuta Robotics received almost USD $3M in seed funding led by Cyberdyne Inc. (Japan), and in the fall of 2016 received another USD $10M in Series A funding from SBI Investments (Japan).
