We are addressing the need of people of staying always connected, anywhere and anytime. We see a market opportunity in entering the large market of global mobile satellite communications, dominated by few although big incumbents – Inmarsat, iridium and Globalstar – and protected by high entry barriers. Our solution is a message, email and file transfer service over a satellite IP network. At Orbitare we realised that by removing the complexity of voice and real time communications we can still deliver a commercially attractive offering directly to the end user and limit the investment needed by using cubesats. Our targeted user is someone who just wants to stay connected with IP messaging apps, someone who finds the current offering complex and expensive. Our customers will value our simplicity, ease of use, pricing and social and environmental values. We will earn money from the subscription fees, and to a lesser extent from selling user terminals (subsidized during the initial phase of the commercialization).
