Current methods for detecting and identifying bacterial pathogens in the food industry and in the pharmaceutical and medtech industries take up to several days before delivering results. Consequently, contaminated products regularly make their way to supermarkets, resulting in illnesses for consumers, extremely costly recalls for food companies, and a significant waste of food, pharmaceutical, or medical products.
We are developing fast bacterial contamination detection methods, using Raman spectroscopy, machine learning, and microfluidics.
