Senior Platform Engineer
Engineering / Fulltime
The Senior Platform Engineer is a full-time position focused on executing the technical vision to operate, stabilize, and incrementally modernize on-premises infrastructure. Rather than a green-field cloud transformation, the role requires bridging legacy VM-based systems with newer platform approaches by introducing Kubernetes, scaling automation via Python, and managing infrastructure-as-code with Terraform. Key operational responsibilities include managing Apache/Tomcat stacks, PostgreSQL databases, Ceph storage, and configuration tools like Puppet and Ansible, alongside driving monitoring via Zabbix and Grafana. The engineer will also support GitLab CI/CD release processes, embed compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR), and participate in an on-call rotation. Ideal candidates possess a strong background in on-prem Linux production environments, a continuous-improvement mindset for legacy integration, and fluent English skills (German is a plus).
